On March 22, 2012, at approximately 8:27 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash on Highway 93 at milepost 33.5, near Hollister. Ernesto Aguayo Garcia, 36, of Twin Falls, was traveling east on 3100 North in a 1980 GMC truck when he failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection of Highway 93. Fred Ostic, 59, of Jerome, was traveling south on Highway 93 in a 1997 Mack semi, was unable to avoid the collision, and struck Aguayo Garcia's vehicle. Aguayo Garcia was not wearing his seatbelt. Ostic was wearing his seatbelt. The southbound lane was blocked for approximately two and a half hours due to corn spilled over the roadway from Ostic's vehicle. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
This crash is under investigation by Sgt. Garcia.
