On October 15, 2012, at approximately 8:36 am, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash on SH39 at Pleasant Valley rd, mile post 8, near American Falls. Star Pinder, 31 year old female of Goodyear AZ, was traveling eastbound on Pleasant Valley rd in a 1996 GMC semi when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of SH39. Douglas Ruff, 50 year old male from Aberdeen ID, was traveling southbound on SH39 when he was struck by the oncoming semi. Pinder was transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical hospital In Pocatelo, ID. Pinder's 13 year old passenger and Douglas Ruff were both transported to Power County hospital by ground ambulance. The highway was blocked briefly while the air ambulance was on scene; all lanes are open at this time.
