Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 44 Near Star
STAR, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred on State Highway 44 at Blessinger Road, near Star.
On July 16th, 2024, at 1:13 p.m., Idaho State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Highway 44 at Blessinger Road, near Star.
A 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 94-year-old male of Boise, Idaho, was westbound on State Highway 44. A 2016 Kenworth T800 Semi, driven by a 51-year-old male of Melba, Idaho, was eastbound on State Highway 44. The driver of the Tahoe, attempting to make a left turn onto Blessinger Rd, failed to use the left turn lane and yield to oncoming traffic. The Kenworth struck the Tahoe on the passenger side.
The driver of the Tahoe was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts.
The eastbound lanes of State Highway 44 are blocked. Check 511.idaho.gov for updates on blockage.
The Idaho State Police was assisted by Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Middleton Police Department and Canyon County Fire and EMS.
This collision is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
