Two Vehicle Fatality Crash near Blackfoot

BLACKFOOT, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred August 8, 2025, at approximately 5:03 a.m., on I15 at mile marker 89, near Blackfoot, Idaho. 

A 21-year-old male, from Idaho Falls, Idaho, was travelling southbound in a 2015 Buick Verano.

An 80-year-old male, from Brocket, Alberta, Canada, was travelling southbound in a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country van, with an 81-year-old female passenger.

 The Buick and the Chrysler were in the left lane of travel.  The Buick struck the rear of the Chrysler.  Both vehicles came to rest in the median.

The driver and passenger of Chrysler were both transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital where the passenger succumbed to their injuries.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
