Two Vehicle Injury Crash in Minidoka County
MINIDOKA COUNTY, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred at approximately 3:09 pm on Wednesday January 7, 2026. This incident took place at the intersection of 200 W and 500 S, near Heyburn.
An 18-year-old male from Paul ID, was driving a silver 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 traveling south-bound on 200 West. A 19-year-old female from Utah was driving east-bound in a white 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan on 500 South. The Dodge Ram failed to yield at the stop sign and struck the Volkswagen.
The driver of the Dodge was the sole occupant. The Volkswagen was carrying four juvenile passengers. Both drivers and three of the juvenile passengers were transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Both drivers and two juvenile passengers in the Volkswagen sustained serious injuries, two passengers sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Dodge, and a passenger in the Volkswagen were not wearing seatbelts.
The 200 West and 500 South intersection was blocked for approximately two hours while emergency responders cleared the scene.
Idaho State Police was assisted by Heyburn Fire, West End Fire Protection District, Quick Response Unit, Cassia EMS, Minidoka EMS, and Minidoka Law Enforcement.
This crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
