On November 14, 2013, at approximately 4:42 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash at the intersection of Lake Ave and State Highway 55 in Caldwell, ID. Richard Sullivan, 18, of Melba, ID, was Northbound on Lake Ave in a 2000 Chrysler Sebring. Sullivan entered the intersection, turning left from the stop sign, and was struck by Corey West, 22, of Kuna, ID, who was Eastbound on State Highway 55 in a 2008 Nissan Altima. The Nissan Altima overturned on the driver's side and slid onto the canal bank. Sullivan was transported by ground ambulance to West Valley Medical Center. West was not injured in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The intersection was blocked for approximately one and a half hours. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
