Two Vehicle Injury Crash North of Rupert
MINIDOKA COUNTY, ID – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred at approximately 5:02 pm on September 23, 2025, on northbound State Highway 24 at milepost 23, north of Rupert.
A 38-year-old male, from Rupert, was driving northbound on State Highway 24 in a 2010 Kenworth semi-truck pulling a trailer of potatoes. The Kenworth stopped in the northbound lanes to make a left hand turn and was struck in the rear by a 1983 International semi-truck, also pulling a trailer of potatoes, driven by a 43-year-old male from Albuquerque, New Mexico. The driver of the International semi was not wearing a seatbelt, the driver of the Kenworth did wear their seatbelt.
The 43-year-old male was taken by air ambulance to a local area hospital. The 38-year-old male was transported by ground ambulance to a local area hospital.
State Highway 24 was blocked for approximately six hours as crews worked to assist those at scene.
Idaho State Police was assisted by the Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office, Northside Fire, East End Fire, Emergency Response, and Classic Air.
