Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred at 9:59 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at eastbound I84 near milepost 49, in Ada County.

A 20-year-old male from Houston, Texas was driving eastbound in a Chevrolet passenger van when he struck the rear end of a Saturn passenger car, driven by a 42-year-old male from Garden City. The Saturn hit the barrier and came to a stop. The passenger van rolled and came to rest in the roadway.

The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the Saturn was wearing a seatbelt. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance. All eastbound lanes were blocked for approximately 3.5 hours.

This crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
