On June 19, 2020, at approximately 5:20 A.M., Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle property damage crash on eastbound I84 at milepost 217, east of Burley.

Michael Niemann, 35, of Twin Falls, was driving eastbound on I84 in a 2016 International semi-truck pulling one trailer. Niemann drove off the left shoulder, overcorrected, and struck the guardrail. The semi-truck overturned on the driver's side in the eastbound lanes of travel. Niemann was wearing a seatbelt.

Eastbound I84 was completely blocked for approximately four hours.
