The Idaho State Police have located a vehicle and person of interest in the fatal hit and run that occurred in Caldwell Monday night.

A 23-year-old Caldwell man was killed after being hit by a vehicle about 10:30 p.m. Monday, March 8 on Montana Avenue between Helena Drive and Larch Street.

State Police Troopers appreciate the public's assistance with this case. The investigation remains ongoing.

On Monday, March 8, 2021, at approximately 10:30 P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a vehicle versus pedestrian fatality crash, near Montana Avenue and Helena Drive in Caldwell.

A vehicle struck Derek Maxwell, 23, of Caldwell, on Montana Avenue between Helena Drive and Larch Street. Upon striking the male, the vehicle fled the scene. It is possibly a dark blue or black mid-2000s Ford Explorer or Ford Expedition.
