**update*** Mr. Gehrke succumbed to his injuries at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Next of kin has been notified.

At approximately 4:15 PM an injury crash occurred on SH64 near mp 27.9 outside Kamiah, ID. Roy J. Gehrke, 62, of Nez Perce, ID was travelling east bound when he lost control of his 1990 Jeep Cherokee and went off the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a large tree head-on. Mr. Gehrke was transported by Life Flight to St. Joseph's Medical Center. He was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is a factor in the crash.
