*****Update****** Shawn L. Brandt succumbed to his injuries on July 7, 2021, at Kootenai Health. Next of kin has been notified.

On June 22, 2021, at approximately 1:56 PM, the Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle crash on State Highway 53 near Hauser Lake Road. A black 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Shawn Brandt, of Kellogg, Idaho was traveling eastbound on SH53 near Hauser Lake Road. Witnesses state Brandt lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. Brandt was not wearing a helmet and was transported to Kootenai Health.
