UPDATE: Public tips lead to identifying high-speed motorcyclist who fled on I-84
MERIDIAN, Idaho – The Idaho State Police (ISP) is grateful for the community and media assistance following a recent news release seeking help identifying a motorcyclist involved in high-speed eluding incidents on Interstate 84 on June 4.
ISP received multiple credible tips from the public, which identified a suspect who turned himself in this afternoon. After a short conversation, ISP will file criminal charges through the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office.
“We’re thankful for the public’s engagement, including the spirited comments we saw on social media,” District 3 Captain Michael Winans said. “People are fed up with this type of dangerous riding behavior, and I think it directly contributed to the high number of tips we received. Motorcycle riding comes with responsibilities, and we’ve seen far too many dangerous incidents lately. Reckless riding isn’t only illegal, it has become a significant threat to the safety of both riders and the public. We appreciate those who stepped up to do the right thing and help us move this case forward.”
As the case goes through the courts, no additional information will be released to protect the integrity of the ongoing process. ISP acknowledges and appreciates the role the community played in this case.

ISP seeks public assistance to help identify the motorcyclist who fled on I-84
MERIDIAN, Idaho – The Idaho State Police (ISP) is seeking help from the public to identify a motorcyclist who fled from troopers twice during a high-speed incident on Tuesday, June 4, 2025.
At approximately 1:47 p.m., a black Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle was observed traveling over 100 miles per hour westbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 46. The rider failed to yield when an ISP trooper attempted a traffic stop.
The same motorcycle was later observed eastbound near milepost 44. When another trooper attempted to stop the rider, the motorcyclist fled again—this time reaching speeds over 150 miles per hour. Due to extreme safety concerns for the public, troopers did not initiate a pursuit.
The rider was last seen near the intersection of Overland Road and Five Mile Road, and the motorcycle did not have a visible license plate.
“This rider didn’t just break the law—he put lives at risk. Fleeing at extreme speeds on a high-powered motorcycle like a Hayabusa shows a reckless disregard for everyone else on the road,” District 3 Patrol Captain Michael Winans said. “This behavior will not be tolerated. We’re asking for the public’s help to identify him before someone gets seriously hurt or killed.”
The rider is wanted for two counts of felony eluding and one count of misdemeanor reckless driving.
A photo from a nearby traffic camera shows the rider wearing a light-colored helmet, dark long-sleeved shirt, shorts, and athletic shoes. He appears to have very skinny legs, which may help in identification.
