The Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle fatal collision that occurred just before 02:52 PM on Oct. 24th, 2023, in Kootenai County, Idaho. The crash occurred on State Highway 3 near mile post 97.5, just north of Harrison. A 40 year old female, from St Maries, Idaho, was driving a black 2001 Toyota 4Runner, southbound on State Highway 3, when she left the roadway and entered the westbound ditch. The black 2001 Toyota 4Runner rolled after leaving the roadway. The driver of the 4Runner was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the 4Runner was pronounced dead on-scene. State Highway 3 was blocked for approximately 5 and a half hours. Coeur d'Alene Tribal Police and Harrison Fire and EMS assisted with the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
