Idaho State Police is investigating a fatality crash that occurred on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at approximately 9:50 p.m., westbound I84 at milepost 38 in Nampa, Canyon County.
A juvenile from Caldwell was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup eastbound on I84 when a tire and wheel came off the vehicle and crossed the center median. The tire entered the westbound lane and struck a 2017 Subaru Forester driven by a 59-year-old male from Nampa. The Subaru then struck a barrier, coming to rest on the right shoulder.
The driver of the Subaru succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was not wearing a seat-belt.
The roadway was partially blocked for approximately three hours.
