Vehicle Versus Pedestrian Fatality Crash in Minidoka County
HEYBURN, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian fatality crash that occurred at 10:29 p.m. on March 9th, 2026, at milemarker 207 on westbound Interstate 84 (I84), in Minidoka County.
A white 2013 Ram 2500, driven by a 22-year-old female from Jerome, Idaho, with a 21-year-old male passenger from Declo, Idaho, was traveling westbound on I84. A 44-year-old male, from Sebring, Florida, was walking eastbound in the westbound lanes on I84. The Ram 2500 struck the male when he walked into the lane.
The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The occupants of the Ram were not transported. They were both wearing seatbelts.
The roadway was blocked for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Idaho State Police was assisted by Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office, Cassia County Sheriff’s Office, Heyburn Police Department, West End QRU, Emergency Run Ambulance, and Idaho Transportation Department.
