Vehicle vs. Train in Downey

Idaho State Police is investigating a vehicle collision that occurred on April 20, 2024, at approximately 9:13 P.M., on SH40 at US91, in Bannock County.

A 54-year-old male from Downey, was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado eastbound on SH40 when the vehicle failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a parked train.

The driver was transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital. It is unknown if the driver was wearing a seatbelt.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
