Training
ABC Alcohol Awareness Training is a brief, web-based course delivered through Canvas. The training takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and provides a focused overview of key responsibilities and risk indicators associated with retail alcohol sales. It is designed to help employees recognize common compliance issues and make informed decisions during routine transactions. This course is particularly beneficial for new employees or those with limited experience in alcohol sales.
This training is not a substitute for TIPS Training or any other certification required by a city or county jurisdiction. It is intended solely as a supplemental awareness resource that provides a printable certificate upon completion.
Alcohol Beverage Seller/Server Training is an in-person course delivered by ISP detectives across the state. The training is approximately 2 hours long and provides a more comprehensive, hands-on learning experience. Attendees receive detailed instruction on alcohol sales compliance, have the opportunity to interact and ask questions, and engage directly with subject matter experts to better understand real-world scenarios and enforcement considerations.
A certificate of completion is issued to participants via email following the training. While some municipalities accept this course as meeting local training requirements, acceptance is not universal. Participants are responsible for confirming compliance with their local city or county ordinances and licensing requirements.
