• Will ISP tow my car if it breaks down?
  • 1. Immediate tow away zones are:
    •  I84 from Caldwell to Gowen Road/the Outlet Mall and I184 from I84 to 13^th St in Boise.
    • Any vehicle obstructing or partially obstructing the lane of traffic.
    • Snow plow zones during winter months.
    • Construction zones.
    • We try and give you 3 hours to remove your vehicle as a courtesy.
      • Exceptions are weather or emergency circumstances.
  • 2. Removal by dark zones are:
    • Any area outside the immediate tow zone on I84 or I184 where the vehicle tires are touching pavement.
      • This applies to all highways within Idaho.
  • 3.  48 hour removal
    • Any area where the vehicles tires completely off of the pavement.
      • Exceptions are weather conditions or emergency circumstances
  • 4. Attempts to contact the registered owner of the abandoned vehicle are made by dispatch before towing the vehicle.
